Drone captures 100s of sharks gathered off Destin, Florida coast
A drone was able to capture a large gathering of sharks off the coast of Destin, Florida. According to the video publisher, there were well over 100 sharks swimming around a sandbar off of the East Pass of Destin. When the video zooms out to show a wider view of the surrounding area it looks to be somewhat close to the beaches of Destin … wonder if people knew of the massive group of sharks cruising offshore? The New York Daily News reports on a video posted on Vimeo by Cory of Birds-iView Aerial Photography. What is immediately clear is the unusually green color of the water. Destin is famously known for this emerald green water … and thus located on Florida’s Emerald Coast. And it has beautifully white sand beaches.
From Wikipedia, Destin, Florida orginated as a small fishing village, it is now a popular tourist destination. According to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, over 80 percent of the Emerald Coast’s 4.5 million visitors each year visit Destin. The city styles itself “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and claims to have the largest fishing vessel fleet in the state of Florida.
