Drone flyover of Tesla Gigafactory under construction
The massive battery factory Tesla is building in Nevada east of Reno was filmed from the air in 4K HD video by a drone. When fully commissioned, it is expected to employ more than 6,500 staff and be the largest lithium-ion processing facility in the world.
From the Tesla Motors website (http://www.teslamotors.com/gigafactory) :
Tesla broke ground on the Gigafactory in June 2014 outside Sparks, Nevada, and we expect to begin cell production in 2017. By 2020, the Gigafactory will reach full capacity and produce more lithium ion batteries annually than were produced worldwide in 2013.
From the video publisher QLC Tech Videos:
To ensure safety this video was recorded while no workers were present and from over one mile away with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional Drone utilizing GPS (available on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1EgiP2c). The drone was in constant visual contact as well as maintaining an altitude of not more than 400 feet above ground level.
