FPV Drone Racing | Komodo airframe | Grapevine Texas
Check out this fpv video taken of drone quad racing at Lake Park in Grapevine Texas.
The course was set up in an open field dotted with trees. Some great flying and fpv views of the action. Mini quads flying under/through the air gates set up around the course and also around and under several trees … all the while trying to beat and not hit the other quads racing around the course. Looks like a crash or two, but overall able to keep the quad in the air around the course.

More info about the Komodo airframe: www.sec3research.com
Some information from the Komodo site (SEC3). It is called the “most advanced multirotor racing platform.” The Komodo – V1 has the following features:
*Removable electronics tray – Allows for much easier building of the electronics outside the frame in a separate unit.
*Removable FPV tray – Like the electronics tray, the FPV tray allows for building outside the main chassis.
*Fully protected battery – The battery is encased in the 2mm carbon fiber frame walls and aluminum spacers.
*Fully protected FPV / electronics – The electronics and FPV equipment are also encased inside the carbon fiber walls of Komodo.
*One wrench fits all screws – One wrench, one screw size. Simple.
*Easily converted to X8 – During the initial design phase we started with an X8 simply because of the frame would house and protect enough equipment for an X8 then a quad would be no problem.
*Motor mounts fit a variety of motors
*ESC mounted on top for ample airflow when running high power or in high temps.
*190g Bare Frame Weight
*Will handle up to a 7″ prop
*Built for use with 30.5mm x 30.5mm flight controllers such as Taulabs Sparky, CC3D, Revo, Naze32, Flip32, KK mini, etc.
*Uses a 30.5mm x 30.5mm “mini” distribution board. (not included)
*Recommended motors, DYS BE1806 2300, Airbot Micro Titan 2204-2300kv, Cobra 2204-2300kv
*Recommended esc’s, Rotorgeeks 12a, Turnigy plush 12a w/blheli, Kiss 18a
